Archiving a Redmine project (hiding it)

When you perform the "Archive" operation on a Redmine project, the project no longer appears on the "Projects" page or in the project selector, and you can no longer view or update it. Use this feature, for example, when all work in a project is complete and you want to keep the project without deleting it.

How to archive a project

  1. Click "Administration" → "Projects".
  2. Click "…" (Actions) at the right end of the row of the project that you want to archive.
  3. Click "Archive" in the drop-down menu.
  4. The dialog "Are you sure you want to archive the '(project name)' project?" appears. Click "OK".

How to restore an archived project

  1. Click "Administration" → "Projects".
  2. Under "Filters", select "is" and "archived" for "Status", and click the "Apply" button.
  3. The archived projects appear. Find the project that you want, and click "…" (Actions) at the right end.
  4. Click "Unarchive" in the drop-down menu.
