I would like to introduce the new features that were committed to the official Redmine repository last month. Let's check out the new features that make Redmine even more useful.
This month, I'll highlight 2 issues out of the 41 committed in August 2026.
What is Redmine?

Support for Adobe Illustrator File Previews
Adobe Illustrator files (.ai) attached to Redmine can now be previewed directly in the browser, just like PDF files. Previously, thumbnails could be displayed, but previews were not supported.
Preview Adobe Illustrator files directly in the browser
This feature supports Illustrator files saved with PDF compatibility enabled, which is the default in Adobe Illustrator. Files saved in the older PostScript format cannot be previewed.
A dedicated icon has also been added for Illustrator files

Latest Note Author Added to the Assignee Dropdown
When editing an issue, the "Author / Previous assignee" group in the assignee dropdown now also includes the user who posted the latest note. This makes it easier to assign the issue back to someone you have been discussing it with, without searching through the full list of members.
The "Author / Previous assignee" group introduced in Redmine 6.0 has also been renamed to "Author / Recent participants" to reflect this change.
