Making the issue number and the comment required when entering spent time in Redmine

If you leave the issue number empty on the spent time entry screen, the spent time is logged for the project. If you make the issue number required, you can prevent users from logging spent time for the project. You can also make the comment required.

Required issue numbers and comments are a feature that was added in Redmine 3.4 (released in July 2017).

How to configure

1. Open "Administration" → "Settings" → the "Time tracking" tab
2. Check "Issue" and "Comment"
3. Click "Save"
