The "Repository" page in Redmine is slow to open
With the default settings, Redmine fetches the latest commit information from the version control system every time you open the "Repository" page. For this reason, the page sometimes takes a long time to display.
You can improve this if Redmine fetches the commit information at regular intervals in the background, and not every time you open the "Repository" page.
How to configure
Make the following two settings.
1. Fetch commits at regular intervals in the background
Configure cron so that the server fetches information from the version control system at regular intervals. See the following page.
2. Stop fetching information when the "Repository" page is opened
Log in as a user who has administrator rights. Open the "Repositories" tab of the "Administration" → "Settings" page and turn off the "Fetch commits automatically" checkbox.
