What is the wiki syntax in Redmine?

Created on 2007-10-16  •  MAEDA Go

In most text input areas of Redmine, such as the wiki and issue descriptions, you can use a syntax called "Textile" or "Markdown". With these, you can express text decoration such as bold and strikethrough, embedded images, links, and so on.

In many places where you can enter text, such as the wiki and issue descriptions, you can use a dedicated format for text decoration such as bold and strikethrough, for tables, for links to objects in Redmine, and so on.

You can use Textile or Markdown to write the formatting. You specify which one to use in the settings for the whole of Redmine ("Administration" → "Settings" → "General").
