Leave the start date of a new Redmine issue empty
When you create a new issue in Redmine, the default start date is set to the date of today. In Redmine 1.3 or later, you can make the default start date empty.
If the date when the issue was created is set as the start date, you cannot tell later whether the start date was set on purpose or was simply not set. This setting solves the problem.
Settings
- Log in as a user with administrator privileges (for example: admin) and open "Administration" → "Settings" → "Issue tracking".
- Turn off the "Use current date as start date for new issues" checkbox and click "Save".
