Set a default assignee for Redmine issues

In Redmine, you can set for each project the default assignee that is used when a new issue is created.
If you set a user as the default assignee, that user is automatically assigned when a new issue is created with no assignee selected.
Settings
Go to "Settings" → "Issue tracking" of the project, select "Default assignee" and click "Save"
