Showing the progress line on the Redmine Gantt chart
To show a progress line on the Redmine Gantt chart, open "Options" at the top of the Gantt chart screen and check the "Progress line" checkbox.

About the progress line
A progress line is used to understand the progress of all tasks on a Gantt chart at once. In the rectangle of each task, a point is set at the position that shows the current % Done. When a line is drawn through these points, it forms a zigzag line that looks like lightning.
If the solid red progress line is to the right of the vertical dotted red line that shows today's date, the issue is ahead of schedule. If it is to the left, the issue is behind schedule.

To show a correct progress line
- Enter the start date and the end date of each issue correctly.
Issues without these dates are not shown on the Gantt chart. - Enter the % Done of each issue.
% Done is important data for drawing the progress line.
