Private notes
Private notes allow you to share information in an issue note that should be visible only to specific members.
While regular notes are visible to everyone who can view the issue, private notes can be seen only by users who have permission to view private notes.
This is useful in situations such as:
- When you want to discuss something only among internal members
- When you want to record information in an issue that should not be visible to customers

Notes posted with the Private notes option enabled are displayed differently from regular notes.
They are marked with a red Private label and shown with a red vertical line on the left.
Who Can View Private Notes
Private notes can be viewed by the following users:
- Users whose role has the View private notes permission
- Administrators
(they can access all issue information by default, including private notes)
How to Use Private Notes

To post a private note, check the Private notes checkbox located below the note input field before submitting your note.
Only users who have the Set notes as private permission under Administration → Roles and permissions can add private notes.
